Every so often, I bring out an old camera and take some random pictures in and around Toronto. I have being doing this for a few years now. I hand hold a beast of a camera, shoot out of moving cars and often forgo critical focus. I photograph the ordinary, less than famous landmarks. This collection of images has come to represent my experience of Toronto. Many of the pictures are of places I remember from my youth. Maybe it’s the slightly fuzzy quality, just like a real memory. People know that building, they have walked by that statue or under that arch. It says a lot for the subtle influence of a city’s built form.
